All Torbay Fixtures Suspended

As of 16th March 21:00 the TDBA has instructed that all Torbay Badminton District Association matches should be suspended until further notice in keeping with the latest government advice to avoid all unnecessary travel and contact in an effort to delay the spread of Corona virus in the UK.

Each club in the league will have to decide on their own position with regard their club nights and social gatherings and issue guidance accordingly.

A statement is expected from Badminton England as early as tomorrow.

Life Begins at Forty!

Calling all Master/Veteran Badminton Players – YOUR COUNTY NEEDS YOU!

Here is an opportunity to extend your playing career with some enjoyable competition against other similar aged people in the South West area.

If you would like the chance to represent Devon in the Inter-County Masters (ie Veterans) badminton competitions and are aged 40 or over please contact Devon County Veterans Co-ordinators: Margaret Banyard on 01752-319471, or Dylys Bradshaw on 01752-402015, between Monday 30 September and Thursday 3 October.

Otherwise, during September, please call Wally Bickford on 01752-784718.
Trials for team selection are being held at The Acorn Centre, Torquay, on
Sunday 6 October.

The competitions are divided into the following age-groups:- Over 40, 45, 50, 55, 60, 65 and 70.

Approximately 60 players from all over Devon are normally involved in the programme of matches, and the Devon County Badminton Association are keen to invite veterans who are still playing at a good standard in local clubs and leagues. Previous county playing experience in their younger days is not necessary.

We are particularly keen to hear from players in the younger age brackets, but would also welcome players in any other age groups – including any seventy year olds!
